Sunset Balcony

 sunset balcony

She has many fascinating faces
Of daytime calm and night fire thaws.
I have learned to love their soft embraces,

When far-off gazes filled empty spaces,
on sunset balcony through cloudy gauze.
She has many fascinating faces

As beauty rises to her skin, my eye traces;
like sister moon, I find art in her flaws,
I have learned to love their soft embraces.

In moody shadows that her smile erases
the most fleeting happiness can pause
She has many fascinating faces.

No time for tears now, as laughter laces
my days, and the time seem greater for cause
I have learned to love; their soft embraces

Spark delight in spare or crowded places
or found in foggy calls and caws.
She has many fascinating faces,
I have learned to love their soft embraces.

curtained mystery

I can feel heartbeats in the melody
that rise and fall  like the rolling sea
driven and borne of the spirit and love...
the boundless, endless care...
when we dare give all without fear

So much of life is a curtained mystery
amidst the chance of a passing breeze
followed from afar like the constant star
blind to all risk, the heart in full glows
Life is a beaming light amidst deep shadows

When we speak the art of the soul
and though we reach and try to hold
the soft wax we press, but can never possess
a burden never, the weight of a feather
the essence that binds us together, forever.

among night fires...

I was born beneath a dying star
its deep red glows from the past, afar
a light set free on a far flung  journey
Among night fires alone in the cold
defiant flames that yet grow old

the wane of life counts me from the start
down fleeting joys and pain, fill the heart
as if wind-born sands falling through my hands.
The lash of forgiveness leaves the deepest scar
I race against the night, beneath a dying star.

Winter Villanelle

 We know the cold wet snow goes swirling thus
  to mute the air and feather rigid ground;
  time shapes tomorrow’s past, in trust with us.
 Above the hungered chill grown perilous
 in crystalled winds no mercy asked or found;
 We know the cold wet snow goes swirling thus
 The winter lightning flash so ominous
a gathered wrath of heat in iced surround;
Time shapes tomorrow’s past, in trust with us.
Mere toe hold 'gainst the howls precarious
as life can fly to sky without a sound.
We know the cold wet snow goes swirling thus,
when love could leave the heavens envious
of passing fateful chance of  touch abound.
Time shapes tomorrow’s past, in trust with us.
 to hold like night and stars most precious,
 for time unto time, the restless tide unbound.
 We know the cold wet snow goes swirling thus;
Time shapes tomorrow’s past, in trust with us.
