prelude to light

In a dream of flight,
which came to solitary night,
a rainbow encircled the Sun;

And suddenly I knew
it was always thus, so true
legends of gold fallen to one.

As the flight unfolds-
no longer tired nor old-
I rise, indifferent to direction;

glad to soar, gaze from above
gathered within, all of my Love
the greatest work my life has done.

Deep and slowly run
a river's journey once begun
a wandered web, which time has spun
bonds of endless light,
exceeds the reach of darkest night.

from her...

So many ways to see a life
in endless rings and things done and not,
from a reckoned moment: now to this;
from the shocks that rock the wagon
when life is a traveler on a tortured road.
I revel in the glows of so many afters,
when loving made the purpose of being;
the memories of skin have their own meanings.

In heights of happiness, into a valley without,
when light seemed like waters of the desert
and loneliness like the waters of the seas,
there were moments that knitted me.
They held me to become such,
piece by piece into a whole.

And then...there were
simply, times that keep me;
a moment in the sun of your love
that left your shadow on my soul.

The Vanity Trap

 That you please me,
captures every prescient being
allure of a mirror of choice, a craving
for the taste of love.

The trap that holds and wont let go
for it is not merely a matter of will
it is also the want and the magic
taste of love

When you were a vanity of fire
I was the moth circling
mysteries within fascination,
a fascination within a dance of light

I had forgotten how warm
darkness can be, how tender
a cold night’s search
for more that we could wish,
and that somehow together we found
the taste of love.
